Author’s Bio
Carlton Pierre Smith was born in Apex Oilfield, Fyzabad, Trinidad, West Indies in 1931. He was educated at Mayaro Government Roman Catholic Schools and Torid Trace Catholic Mission School at Brothers Road, Rio Claro. In 1947 he retained a half-scholarship at Burke's High School, Port Of Spain. He taught at Progressive Educational Institute for 12 years and in 1962 placed third with "The Awakening" in a worldwide competition for un-established writers sponsored by the Flamingo Magazine of London. He was married in 1965 and is the father of five children, four of whom have graduated with degrees at age 21. He also established several business ventures in wholesale, transport and construction. He is currently retired and living with his son in Houston and is an active author. His genre is West Indian Literary Fiction.
